Kris was born on February 12th, 1966 in Denver, Colorado to Mary and Alan Spranger. As one of four children, she could always be found drawing and painting, showing her artistic side. Her drawings were ones you could find in museums, detailed and colorful. She took this ability and shared her love for the arts with her nieces and nephews, teaching them to explore their creative side.
Growing up, she had a very strong liking for chewing gum, and all of her siblings would tell you that if Kris let you have a stick of gum, you knew you made it on the friend list.
As a youngin, she was an avid softball player, and never missed a play at first base. Competitive by nature, a trait that all her siblings shared with her, you would not want her playing against you! After she mastered softball, she took up basketball, and was a true student athlete, balancing school and sports. Soccer became her favorite sport, and could give David Beckham a run for his money! Kris loved to compete, but had a soft soul that was a gift to the world.
After graduating from Regis College, Kris started a very successful IT career, a field that she worked throughout her whole life. She was very gifted with software and team building, proving to be a strong team leader. Her artistic abilities came through, again, in the world of software, where she would always be using her talents to help the people achieve their highest potential.
Outside of work, Kris was a family person. She was very involved in the lives of her siblings, and of their children, always being the “Fun Aunt Kris.” Ask any one of her nieces and nephews, and they will tell you that she always found a way to sneak candy and pop to them, and it was always their little secret. Kris’ soul was soft and sweet, her heart was big enough to fit anyone and everyone in it. She always took are of others, never putting herself first. She was a hug when you needed it, an ear to listen, a shoulder to cry on, and best of all, a member of the family that you could always count on.
When Kris joined the Lord in Heaven, Heaven gained an angel. Her presence will always be felt, and will guide her family as they navigate the next chapter of life without her. Kris’ spirit was felt by anyone who met her, and now joining her grandparents and mom in Heaven, she will most certainly be cheering loudly for her family to fight on, and for the Broncos to win a game.
Kris is survived by her three siblings, Terri, Sandi (Adam) and Matt (Brigitte) and her 7 nieces and nephews, Brittani, Marcus, Jason, Justin, Christian, Giselle and Capriana. She is preceded in death by her mom, Mary Lou Spranger, and her grandparents, Paul and Dorothy DeJulio. Our Lord tells us to trust in Him and in His Timing, and with His Love around us, we will always remember Kris’ infectious happy spirit, letting it forever live on. We love you, Kris/Aunt Kris. Forever be our angel.
“But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.” - 2 Corinthians 12:9-10
