Larry was born on December 1, 1938, and grew up in North Denver alongside his sister, Janice. It was Janice who introduced him to the love of his life, Karen Reseigh. Larry and Karen married on June 24, 1961, and built a life together that spanned 65 years and was filled with four children, eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and countless friends.
Larry began his career with the phone company right out of high school and worked his way up to become an engineer in the fiber optics division of Mountain Bell, retiring in 1989. Alongside his career, he served for 20 years as a volunteer fireman with the Southwest Adams County Fire Department.
Service to others was woven through every chapter of Larry’s life. He was active in the Masonic family from his youth in DeMolay through his years as a Mason and a member of the El Jebel Shrine in Denver. He served as Guardian of Bethel 9, Job’s Daughters, where he had the joy of watching all three of his daughters grow and progress. After retirement, Larry devoted himself to Shriners Hospitals for Children, coordinating care for families in need and serving on the board of the Shriners Hospital in Utah.
Those who knew Larry would say he was one of the best men they ever met. He was strong, caring, honest, and warm, and he always had a joke ready to go. His two great passions were his family and giving back to others, and he was an absolute master at both. His 65-year marriage to Karen and the 87 years he spent loving his family and those around him were his greatest accomplishments.
Larry will be missed terribly by everyone who knew him, but we are grateful that he is now with the God he believed in with all his heart. We picture him sitting in the warm glow of heaven, singing the songs he loved and joking with those he hasn’t seen in so long, waiting for us all to join him someday. We love you so, so much, Dad.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, October 22, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Crown Hill, 7777 West 29th Avenue, Wheat Ridge, Colorado. The service will also be livestreamed. Please join the family for a gathering on the property directly following the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial gifts be made to Shriners Children’s, a cause close to Larry’s heart: https://www.shrinerschildrens.org/en/ways-to-give/giving-to-shriners-childrens/honor-a-loved-one.
