Leo Garcia

Leo S. Garcia Jr died Sunday March 27 at home in Arvada. He was born October 31,1947 in Denver and lived in the Denver, Boulder, Arvada area for most of his life. The 7th of 10 children, Leo was preceded in death by brothers Jake and Bernie, and by sister Marge as well as his parents Leon S. Garcia and Maria Cruz Garcia and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and nephews. Leo graduated from Lakewood High School in 1967 and went on to college at Bethany College in Oklahoma and later at Metropolitan State College in Denver where he graduated with a BA in industrial psychology. He further attended Regis University and earned the degree of MS in Management.

Leo married Joyce Ann Basnett in July of 1969 and they quickly assumed a life of adventure, travelling to sundry and widespread places. Having no children of their own, they became adept at spoiling each other with foreign travel, attending theater productions, movies, concerts and much much more.

Of course life goes on but it won't be nearly as much fun, varied or interesting.

Leo will be cremated and his ashes scattered in his backyard so he will always be home. A memorial service will be held at Olinger Crown Hill in the Chapel.
