My husband and I enjoyed many fish fries at LeRoy's campsite at Nemeiben Lake,Sk., Canada.  LeRoy was the best fish fryer.  My husband just passed away Mar. 26, 2020, I am sure that LeRoy and Ed and our dog Sandy, who LeRoy spoil
ed with peanuts, are fishng in the beyond.  We thoroughly enjoyed his company for over 30 years each summer at Nemeiben, and he is still talked about , and will be missed by so many.  R.I.P      --Connie Masson

I will forever remember my Uncle Leroy as a man's man. He used to frighten the hell out of us as young children with his patented growl, followed immediately with his big smile. Charlene (my wife) remembers Uncle Leroy at the Huskey family reunion back in... 1983(?) at Grand Lake, Colorado,  when our firstborn, Caleb, was about one year old. She recalls Uncle Leroy holding Caleb cooing and baby-talking to him. A role I had never seen him play previously. Someone on here said it very well, he was tough yet tender. Aunt Rose was tough as nails too. A perfect match.

I extend to you, Rocky, Kirt, and Derek my sincere condolences. I love the photo of you four together not so long ago, standing side by side. There is a little of your dad in all of you.

My favorite Uncle.....from the time I was a little girl until the day he passed he could always make me laugh. He was a tough yet gentle man. Stern yet softhearted. He told me once back when I was in high school that if I found myself in a hole that I better use the same shovel that I dug that hole with to get out of it. I said back to him, " It's a hole Uncle LeRoy.". He replied, " Well then, don't make it a deep whole. But if you do use your shovel and build steps to get out, give your shovel to the person looking down at you and climb out while they pull you out, but whatever you do do not lose your shovel.". He ended it with his smile and his chuckle, that he offered to so many. All my life when I have been in a hole, I think about that conversation. I figure out where my shovel is and I start digging those stairs to get out. Hug Aunt Rosetta, Aunt Rita, Rodney and Lisa. Thank you Uncle LeRoy for this lesson.

I remember loving going up to visit Uncle Leroy and Aunt Rosetta's. It was always the best times. Going sledding with the boys and always the best green chili burritos on a cold winter day. Uncle Leroy would sit back on his couch and growl at us with a little wink. I will miss him. Hug Aunt Rosetta for us!

Leroy, I will keep you forever in my heart!  You were like a brother to me, for 65 years. 
Thank you for all the years of shared happiness with Rose! 
Rest in loving peace with the family!

I remember when I was little my Uncle LeRoy would be joking around and he would growl at us and we were so scared. He was a jokester.  

I dearly loved my Uncle Leroy. I will miss his wit and joking and teasing with me. I will miss his laughter. He is now with his Rose.
