

Leta Alberts, born Leta Mae Williams, also known to some as “Aunt Mae” was born in Texas and was the youngest daughter of three girls and the second youngest sibling of 5. Leta’s family moved to California when she was a child to escape the dust bowl and the hope for more opportunity due to the Great depression.
Leta met her husband Don through her brother Bob who served with him in the Army during the Korean war. Together they had three boys in which they eventually moved to Denver Colorado.
Leta was a house wife and cared for her children at their family home in Lakewood Colorado. She enjoyed sewing, playing bridge, and being a cubs scouts den mother. She also often worked odd jobs.
In 1986 Leta and Don moved to Toronto Canada for her husband's employment. There she found a new lease in life and decided to continue her education and earn her highschool diploma. While in Canada Leta also worked for several years at Mcdonald where she was very proud of her time there and earned employee of the month.
Ultimately Leta and Don retired back to Pueblo, Colorado, Reno Nevada and lastly back to Denver.
Leta was small in stature but had a big personality that left a big impact on the people in her life. Leta was a big fan of Elivs and loved to spontaneously start dancing at the mere mention of his name. Leta was often described as a very sweet woman mixed with some vinegar. She was very self-assured and could be very demanding. Leta was a devout catholic and had a close relationship with her extended family with whom she discussed politics vehemently. She loved and was loved by her family and friends and will be missed dearly.
