Lois Irene Anderson

Lois Irene Anderson, 89 of Lakewood passed away November 5, 2015. She was born January 16, 1926 in Sterling Colorado. The daughter of Ernest and Gladys (Clark) Strohmeyer. Her family moved to Garo, Colorado in 1931 and then relocated to Fruitdale, CO in 1941, where she met the love of her life, Lawrence LeRoy Anderson, Jr., known to many as Lonnie or Andy, and they were married on August 15, 1948 at Fruitdale Baptist Church.

Lois graduated from Edgewater high school and worked for Lowry Air Force Base, Gates Rubber Company, Kelly Girl, Gust Elementary School, Kennedy High School and US West Communications. She retired from US West in 1991. Lois was an excellent typist doing a steady 120 words a minute without an error. She loved office work, such as typing and filing.

Lois loved to work with her hands. She was a talented seamstress, embroiderer and quilter. She was a founding member of the Central Bible Church sewing club, the Dorcas Doers. Together they handmade several hundred quilts that were donated to several charities. She also enjoyed going to the Colorado Christians Women’s club.

Lois loved God, family and life. She always had a smile on her face and had a great sense of humor. Lois was a godly woman and laid a strong spiritual foundation for the entire family.

She will be greatly missed by her loving husband, three children, their spouses, her six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Lois is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Lawrence L Anderson; Son Michael (Christine) Anderson; Daughter LeAnn (Shannon) Anderson; Son Les (Gussie) Anderson; six Grandchildren, Brandon (Linda) Anderson, Corinna (Loren) Richmond, Jennifer (Caleb) Thiessen, Rebecca (Devin) Anderson, Zach Anderson, and Eli (Kiersten) Anderson; and two Great Grandchildren Alexandra Richmond and Autumn Anderson; and Brother Ray Strohmeyer.

Lois was preceded in death by her Father and Mother Ernest and Gladys Strohmeyer, Sister Dorothy Lamson, Brothers Franklin, Carl, Paul, and Philip Strohmeyer.
