Loretta was the daughter of Helen (Coursey) and George Covillo, and sister to Glenda (George).
She married Robert “Bobby” Johnson on June 5, 1954. Their marriage was loyal, devoted, and enduring in the way long marriages are when two strong-willed people refuse to quit on each other.
She was the mother of: Kari, Tammy (Charlie), Dean (Carrie), Ronnie (Cindy), Todd, and Kendra (Phill).
She was the grandmother of: Geovanni (Beth), Dominic (Jon), Angela, Tyler, Jared (Jenna), Eric, Rocky (Maria), Aaron, Amber (Eric), Danielle, Raiana (Kit), Robert (Brandy), and Tammy (James).
She was the great-grandmother of 25, and the great-great-grandmother of Havana, her first.
Loretta was, in every honest sense of the word, tough. She loved her family more than anything on earth, even when loving required grit, humor, and strong values. She held close memories of those who went before her—parents, husband, her son Todd, and so many friends—and carried them with her daily.
She loved being a wife, she poured herself into being a mother, but being a grandmother was the highest joy of her life. She lived to love people in the way that mattered: showing up, feeding, correcting, caring, and never letting anyone walk away without knowing they belonged to her.
Her faith was steady and unperformed. She loved God, the Holy Family, and held deep devotion to the Blessed Mother, trusting in her presence in this life and the next.
Loretta lived with love, force, humor, and conviction. To be loved by her was to be claimed forever. She will be forever missed by all those she touched.
