91, passed away peacefully on January 26, 2014 in Westminster, Colorado. Born January 31, 1922 in Raton, New Mexico to Carlos and Marenciana Montoya. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Josephine (Martinez) Montoya, his children; Arlene (Tom) Aguilar, Kitty (David Lucero) Padilla, Delphine (Robert) Gonzales, Carol (Ron Reeves) Montoya, and Kathleen Tapia, sisters, Mollie Cabral, and Rose Montoya, and a brother Victor (Julie) Montoya. Louis was preceded in death by his parents, Carlos and Marenciana, son Tom Tapia, and a sister Ersie Valdez.
Visitation Wednesday, January 29, 2014 from 4pm to 6pm at Olinger Crown Hill. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will follow at 7pm in the Chapel of Peace located at Olinger Crown Hill. Funeral Mass will be held the next day, Thursday, January 30, 2014, 10am at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 7595 Federal Blvd., Westminster, Colorado. Cremation will follow.
Interment of the cremated remains will be later this spring at Ft. Logan National Cemetery, Denver, Colorado. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Louis's name to the American Legion Post #17, 1901 Harlan St., Edgewater, CO 80214, 303.238.2401.
