Louis Charles Schreiner, age 80, of Golden, passed away on Sunday, August 1, 2021. He was born on May 14, 1941 in South Bend, Indiana and grew up in Niles, Illinois. He is the son of the late Louis and Dorothy Schreiner.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Marta Schreiner, who he was lovingly married to for 53 years. Louis was a Hydrometeorologist for the Bureau of Reclamation for 40 years before his retirement in 2006.
He loved his family dearly and especially enjoyed attending his children and grandchildren’s activities. He was overjoyed in being a grandfather to his grandchildren who range in age from 24 years to 4 months old. He was a huge fan of the Cubs, Rockies, and Sooners. Louis was known for making the best chocolate chip cookies, giving the perfect funny birthday cards, and making people laugh even with his “good ole” dad jokes” which his sons constantly razzed him about
Louis served as a volunteer for Children’s Hospital for over 10 years and as a Board member for the Rocky Mountain Square Dance Club. He was an Air Force Veteran and served in Vietnam.
Louis is survived by his five sons, four daughters-in-law, six grandchildren, and two sisters.
