

Luther S. Clemmer died August 25, 2014 at the Life Care Center of Westminster, CO. He was born in Gaston County, NC, son of Charles E. Clemmer and Lola Rhyne Clemmer, now deceased. Luther was preceded in death by his wife Martha, sister Margaret, brothers Dayne, Paul, Charles Jr. and Keith. He is survived by: brother Jack, Moorsville, NC; dauther Linda, Mesa, AZ; son Kevin and wife Trisha, Conifer, CO; son Kasey and wife Seveta, Morristown, TN; and Mark and wife Kelly, Arvada, CO; grandchildren Kelsi and Colton, Arvada, CO and Christian and Sofia, Morristown, TN. Luther was an active member of Holy Communion Lutheran Church, Dallas, NC, for many years moving his membership to Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Wheat Ridge, CO in 1990. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in December 1941 and was discharged in 1945 after serving aboard ships in the Atlantic and Pacific theaters. He entered the University of Minnesota in 1946, graduating in 1950 with a Degree in Mining Engineering then was employed by several mining companies and the Federal Government, retiring in 1980. He was then a consulting Mining Engineer until 1995. He was awarded Life Membership in the National Society of Professional Engineers and Professional Engineers of Colorado in 2007. He was a Life Member of Arvada ELKS Club, a charter member of Fulton, IL Lions Club in 1952 and served as President in 1953. He earned a Degree in Law from La Sal Extension University, Chicago, IL in 1967. Funeral service will be at Olinger Crown Hill Mortuary, Wheat Ridge, CO on Tuesday, Sept. 2nd, 3:00 p.m. with entombment to follow in Good Shepherd Mausoleum.
