Lyle Kenneth Mueller passed away May 7 in Aurora at the age of 65. He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Al Groves of Lawrenceville, Georgia, and nephew Arthur Groves, also of Lawrenceville, as well as several cousins.
Lyle was born in Rapid City, South Dakota, on Nov. 4, 1952, to Audrey and Delbert Mueller, both now deceased. The family moved to Grand Junction several years later, and he graduated from Grand Junction High School and what was then known as Mesa College, where he earned an associate’s degree. He subsequently enlisted in the Army and spent several years stationed at Fort Carson. Lyle then moved to Aurora and worked for many years at 7 Eleven stores. Despite geographical distances, he remained dedicated to his family, particularly in his parents’ later years when he made frequent trips to Grand Junction to assist and care for them.
A memorial service will be held in Grand Junction at a later date, at which time he will be buried in the Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Contributions in his memory may be made to the charity of your choice.
