Mackenzie Edward Port was born April 15, 1992 by his birth mom Kelly Bade, she made the decision to give him up for adoption to Don and Sandee Port. The adoption was open which gave Kelly the opportunity to be a part of his life. The bond between all of them created family for Mackenzie.
Mackenzie was always smiling and laughing. He brightens up every room he entered and easily made friends. Even with his disabilities Sandee was able to involve him in all the regular activities like boy scouts, horseback therapy, baseball, School dances and skiing. Mackenzie enjoyed watching his dad painting, working on cars, watching YouTube and in his early years Mac was able to hunt with his dad by riding in a backpack.
In 2022 Sandee lost her battle with cancer. Shortly thereafter, in 2023 lost his father, Don. We found a host family through Mosaic residential agency. To our surprise Mosaic found opening Dave Mundung the same day we met with Mosaic. Mack found his new home and created a new family for himself. Daily activity would be loading up in the van and going on some kind of outing. Mack traveled with Dave and his new family all over. They’ve been to Disneyland, Golden Gate Bridge, Las Vegas, Mt Rushmore, Portland, North Dakota, Minnesota and more. One of Macks favorite things is to stroll the mall which in most cases he ended up with new pair of slippers with his closet currently having a total of 16 pairs.
Preceded in Death by his parents Sandee Jean & Donald Port and other family members.
