
Born July 17,1936 in Hutchison Kansas Margaret was the beloved mother of Lisa, Kent, Kevin Davis and spouse to Dr. Peter Patterson.
Margaret left Kansas to attend college in Denver at the Colorado Women's College. It was there where she met Jerry Brooks Davis, her first husband and had three children. She worked as a medical bacteriologist at Presbyterian Hospital in Denver while raising her family. During this time she became enamored with the new technologically advanced lab equipment which was being developed at the time. After her first husbands early passing, she left Presbyterian to become a representative/sales person with the Vitek corporation, which had developed a new platform for rapid and accurate identification and antimicrobial susceptibility testing of bacteria and fungi. She enjoyed being on the fore front of medicines rapid advancement. It was during this work where she met her second husband, Dr. Peter Patterson. They enjoyed living in various cities, including Orange County, California, Kansas City, Kansas and Sun City West, Arizona. They enjoyed traveling the world, especially when accompanied by one or more of their grandchildren. Margaret will be remembered for her warm and loving demeanor, passion for needlepoint and weaving, traveling, and relishing time with all of her grandchildren. She was always an active participant in her community. She served as the president of the Grand Stitchers-Weavers organization in the Sun City Grand community and recently was an active member of Weavers West club in Sun City West community. She also volunteered at a hospital/nursing home visitation program which provided her an outlet for her caring–giving side and from which she herself garnered a great deal of satisfaction.
Margaret is survived by her children, Lisa, Kent, Kevin Davis, 7 grandchildren, 1 recently born Great- granddaughter and her beloved husband, Peter Patterson and his children, Susan, Michael Patterson, Carol Newton and five grandchildren. At her behest, she will be cremated.There will be a brief graveside Memorial to be held September 26 at 11 AM at the Crown Hill Cemetery in Wheat Ridge Colorado. There will be a celebration of life afterwards at her son's home in Morrison, Colorado.In lieu of flowers the family requests any donations be made to the Weavers West society in Sun City West, Arizona.
Margaret will be deeply missed by her family, friends and community and remembered with love for her enduring smile, warm and loving heart and occasional sharp dry wit.
