

Marguerite R. Honley, 94, of Denver, CO passed away April 11, 2015 at Collier Hospice Center in Wheat Ridge, CO after a courageous fight with cancer. Born January 3rd, 1921, Marguerite was the 3rd born of 11 children to George and Sadie Werner of Spotted Horse, WY. She worked as a school teacher after high school and as a stenographer while active in the Women’s Army Corp. She received an honorable discharge from the Army in 1946. She met and married her husband Robert Honley in 1946 and together they had two children, a daughter and a son. She worked as a secretary at Martin Marietta for 22 years before retiring in 1985. She loved walking, playing cards with her friends, was an active member of her WAC chapter and a member of her parish Altar Society and Rosary Society. Spending time with her family was one of the things she enjoyed most of all. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert, brothers: George, Tom, and Rupert; sisters: Cecilia, Lorraine, Frances, Mary, Avis and Patricia. Survivors include her children Patricia Honley and Russell Honley of Denver; grandchildren: Amie Baumer (Steve) of Broomfield, CO; Courtney Honley of Littleton, CO; Mandi Reilly (Scott) of Davidson, NC; four great grandsons Vince Pollack, Ryan Baumer, Eric Baumer and Andrew Reilly; sister Christina Mitchell of Gillette, WU and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation Wednesday, April 15 from 5 to the 7pm Rosary at Olinger Crown Hill. Funeral Mass Thursday, April 16 at 10:30am at Presentation of Our Lady Church, interment will follow at 12:30 pm at Ft. Logan National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations are preferred to the American Diabetes Association or the American Cancer Society.
