

Marian V. Raver was born January 21, 1921 to Laura and Elmer White in Howell County, southern Missouri. After moving around a lot during the Great Depression the family moved to Denver County. She graduated from Garden Home School in 1940 and married LaVelle Raver that same year. They had a daughter, Sharon, in 1942 and a son, Rodney, in 1947.
Marian was a Blue Bird leader (Camp Fire Girls) and later a Cub Scout leader to her children. She was a partner in the family business, LaVelle’s T.V. Service. She greatly enjoyed the four grandchildren as they came along and later, great grandchildren and great-great grandchild. She enjoyed bowling, playing cards and regular meetings with former school friends, some of which still meet after 70 plus years. For a number of years she belonged to the Barnum Senior Center where she took classes in ceramics, quilting, art, and line dance and made many friends. Through the years, she and LaVelle enjoyed trips in their travel trailer and loved the beautiful outdoors and fishing trips. They each kept journals of the trips, which they read later and relived the wonderful times.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Betty and Ed Roberts; sister, Opal (Bobbie) DeLiere; daughter, Sharon Humphrey; son, Rodney Raver and most recently, husband, LaVelle Raver.
She is survived by 4 grandchildren, Dana Cassidy, Michelle Schlund, Steve Raver, Vince Raver. (Enjoyed and loved all) 5 great-grandchildren, Karra, Logan, Kenzie, Kayla and Michael; 4 great-great grandchildren, Dacien, Isaac, Kain, Kael.
A visitation with her family present will be held from 10am-12pm, Wednesday, December 17, 2014 with funeral service following at 12pm, at Olinger Crown Hill Chapel, 7777 W. 29th Street, Wheat Ridge, Colorado, 80033. Burial will follow at Olinger Crown Hill Cemetery.
