Born Marianna Elizalde on February 3, 1942 in Denver, Colorado to Josephine and Angelo Elizalde. Raised and graduated high school in Denver. Married on November 26, 1960.
Marianna preferred to be called “Nana”. Her children remember her with the importance of family and remaining in touch. Very intelligent and an avid reader. She loved family gatherings and traveling. In her younger years she did sewing, dancing, bowling, swimming and tennis. We had a family tradition including card games, puzzles, dominoes and board games. In the summers, going camping with her parents and always stay a week or two in the mountains. Family road trips which were passed down to include grandchildren.
She loved babysitting the grandchildren and was always available to pick them up from school when needed and staying with her on weekends. There was always family stopping by to visit. Her door was always open to everyone. A great granddaughter remembers her as being organized, kind, loving and intelligent.
As one of her children, I have fond memories that will last and always be cherished. I am grateful for the time she was here with us. My quality time with my family is important to me. This is something passed down from our mother.
Grandma Nana will be missed beyond words to describe….
