Marilyn Ann Dalke (Regan) was born in a small one room house in New Castle, Wyoming on February 9, 1932 to Eva and Cornelius Regan. Her dad worked for the railroad, and during her childhood her family moved several times from Wyoming to Nebraska then back to Wyoming. When she was 6 years old, her Mom and Dad ran the train station in Careyhurst, Wyoming. It had no running water, an outside well, and an outhouse. They were there for 2 years before moving on to Nebraska. Her family finally settled in Casper, Wyoming where she attended 6th through 12th grades and graduated from Natrona High School.
She met her future husband, Robert Dalke, when he was in Casper with the National Guard based out of Denver, in town for a training session. After his training, he came back to Casper where they dated and he worked before joining the Army. They were married in Douglas, Wyoming on August 30, 1950 during his leave from the Army. They went on to have three children, two of them while she was an Army wife and the third when he left the Army and they moved to Colorado. She stayed home to raise the kids for several years, but eventually went back to work. She loved working with figures and found employment with Weicker Moving and Storage as an office worker doing accounts payable and payroll for the company. She worked there for 20 years. After that, she and her husband managed mobile home parks, first in Greeley, then in Golden. They moved back to Greeley, where she spent her last 20 years before moving into memory care.
Marilyn enjoyed her travels. From a very early age, when she traveled the rails with her parents, to her "Trip of a Lifetime" when she traveled to Germany to visit her middle son and his wife, to local trips around Colorado with her children and grandchildren, she enjoyed it all. She was an avid reader and loved a variety of arts and crafts. She was a self taught artist and created several beautiful oil paintings.
Marilyn died of Alzheimer's at the age of 87 on August 31, 2019, the day after her and her husband's 69th wedding anniversary. She is survived by her husband, Robert, her oldest son, Kirk, her daughter Gale, her grandson, Jason, her three granddaughters, Callie, Misty and Monica, and one great-grandchild, Adaline. She was preceded in death by her son, Ray. She was loved and will be missed.
