She built her career as a Seamstress, but was also a Personal Care Aid, Homemaker, and retired from Walmart. She was 75 years old and was able to live a long and fulfilling life. She had a number of achievements, one was being a member of the Lioness Club but most importantly was becoming a mother of three beautiful children. She married Earl Gaffney on July 31st,
She was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother and a friend too many. Friends and family describe her as an intelligent, openhearted, caring, friendly, humorous, and genuine friend. People often described her as someone who didn’t judge based on your wealth, what you wore, or what you had to offer but someone who would love you for your personality and friendship. Ms Gaffney was also someone who didn’t want people to be friends with her because of materialistic reasons and what she could provide but only wanted to be loved for who she was.
She is survived by her children: Kristine Gaffney and her partner Mike Holden, Amy Martinez and her husband Larry Martinez and Clifford Gaffney. Grandmother of Adelia Nunes, Christain Hernandez, Carly Nunes, Brendan Nunes, and Jenna Martinez. Also survived by many loving friends and her beloved dog Max.
Friends and family are gathering to celebrate the life of Marion on Sunday, Sept. 29 at 12PM at 1425 Mariposa St. on the 5th floor. The ceremony will be open to all residents of the building and people who have gotten to know her. Her Wareham memorial will be announced shortly.
