

Survived by her four daughters, Coleen Diane (Lakewood), Carol Lynn (Wheat Ridge) Kathleen Marie (Golden) & Cheryl Ann, (Wheat Ridge), four grandchildren, Nicholas James Weaver, Nichole Marie Weaver-Jones, Dustin Richard Schmitt & Matthew Daniel Frost, three great-grandchildren, Roy Daniel Frost, Kristian Caine Jones & Marissa Jade Jones, one brother, Claude Thilmont (Arvada), and numerous family and friends.
Marquita was preceded in death by her husbands, James Chaney & Mario Figurelli.
Marquita was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois and was the youngest and only girl of seven siblings.
Marquita was a lifetime Eastern Star member, initiated on September 9, 1962, Unity Chapter #97.
When she wasn’t raising her four girls, she worked at the State Capital as a telephone operator/message runner during legislative sessions, which she enjoyed immensely. During elections, she worked as an election poll judge, which allowed her to serve the community and provided the opportunity to catch up with various neighborhood friends. Marquita worked retail sales at the Denver Dry Goods/May D&F throughout the remainder of her career.
Marquita was a dedicated mother and grandmother and was proud of each of their accomplishments, forgiving of their shortfalls and was understanding and patient when life challenges would set course.
Thank you, Mom, Grandma, for believing in all of us and wanting nothing but happiness and peace in our lives. We trust you have found yours.
Services – Friday, 12:00 p.m. at the chapel at Olinger Crown Hill, 29th & Wadsworth Blvd, Wheat Ridge, CO followed by intermit at Mt Olivet Cemetery.
