Melinda N. Bustamante, age 34, of Sheridan, Colorado passed away on Monday, January 23, 2023. Melinda lost her lifelong battle of Chronic Kidney Disease; she was surrounded by her closest family and friends.
Melinda was born March 22, 1988 to Debra Juarez and Antonio Bustamante in Bakersfield, CA. and raised most of her life in Denver, CO by Debra Juarez and Ernest Salazar. She was the middle sister of her 9 siblings and became a sister in 2008 to her Armijo brothers and sisters. Melinda was the "Nina" to almost all of her nieces and nephews but she was mostly known for her title as "Tia Lyna". Each title that she had, she held it with pride. Melinda was so much more than anyone could have imagined. She was the most AWESOMEST, asshole, funny, sarcastic, amazing, loving person on the planet (her words) She was unapologetically herself, she loved hard, but if you knew her, you knew she was going to be the one to speak her mind regardless of who you were. That is what made Melinda, MELINDA!!
Melinda met her wife, Sheena in 2008. At that time she became a mother to Victor Alfaro Jr. who was 3.5 yrs old and Daniel Alfaro who was 1.5 yrs old. Melinda and Sheena received their Domestic Partnership in 2012 and Married in 2013- THE BEST WEDDING YOU COULD HAVE EVER ATTENDED! Melinda and Sheena grew as one, faced challenges, over came those challenges, and loved each other endlessly. If you knew them you knew that their love was one of a kind and Melinda loved Sheena more than anything in this world. Melinda proudest title was her title of "Mom" she devoted so much time and love to the boys, so much so that Daniel thought he was her Jr. Victor and Melinda bonded the most over their 17 months together as he battled cancer, she was his nurse and so much more.
