I am very sorry to hear about mike. I remember so many great times growing up with Mike(Noodle). The memories will last with me forever. The Kuenzinger family thoughts and prayers are with Mike and the Poirier family.

Mike, I am going to miss you so very much. 
 I was so blessed to have a brother like you…. We were only 15 months apart growing up and we were best buddies.  I have great memories of us together.  I especially loved the one when we went on our annual family road trip camping vacations.  We laughed over and over about the time my dad could not get the Coleman stove lit (that was usually Den or Tom’s job)  Mike and I watched my dad throw it against a tree out of frustration.     Then…. there were the Sunday morning “after church” drives into the mountains where the 7 of us would all pile our 65 convertible Mustang. Kathy, Den and Tom were in the back seat getting wind blown….I sat on my mom’s lap and Mike always rode in the middle straddling the stick shift.
 We shared our first communion together….. in Junior High, we were confirmed together at St. Mary’s.  When we got older, and we could drive to church on our own, Den, Tom, Mike and I would drive to church Sunday mornings. Mike or I would run into St Mary’s or Holy Name to retrieve the bulletin for the morning service to give to our  Mom… and yes……. more often than not we grabbed the bulletin and skipped church.
Mike and I stole our first piece of candy together, got sent to our rooms after the infamous warning from our mom… “wait until you father gets home”. …. We got punished together…..   We played with matches together…. and again,….. got punished together…..  We learned our life lessons together.
We spent many hot summer days at the Harlow pool.  We would swim,  then walk home, have a popsicle, close the curtains and watch “Dark Shadows”.  We got scared together….. We played hide and seek with the neighbors and rode our bikes everywhere.   Den and Tom…. The Thrillseekers….would set up their bike ramp in front of our house and Mike and I would take turns laying down…. Lengthwise….. at the end of the ramp while the “Evil Kinevil” brothers would jump over us with their bikes.  We loved it and thought we were cool. 
Every fall for about 4 years, we went to the Broadmoor with  my dad.  When he was at his insurance conference, we would wonder around the grounds of the hotel laughing at the silliest things and trying not to get into trouble…. In High school we worked for my dad,  together with our friends at the Hilton Hotel checking coats for the various conferences that came into town…we laughed a lot ….and again, tried not to get into too much trouble. ….….
The one gift that you gave to all of us was your sense of humor.  You made all of us  laugh at something every time we were around you. Your giving spirit was always concerned with others and even though your trials were larger than anyone could imagine, your  thoughts were constantly on others and what they were going thru.  You always had a knack for making everyone laugh.  On the outside you were the funniest person in the room. You made me laugh so hard at times!  You could have Dennis crying in seconds and you and Kathy had your own bear joke’s you continued to laugh about….That’s just WRONG!

In 1984 after graduating from college, you just started your job at Martin Marrietta, life was going really well and you had a bright future ahead of you.  Everything changed Wednesday, June 13th after your motorcycle accident on your way home from work.  You were in the prime of your life.  You faced so many challenges after your accident. .. How do you cope with the loss of your leg?  Will you ever play hockey again?  What will your life look like?  Dave Hoeler, your good friend from elementary school said “a part of you died in that accident” 
 You struggled tremendously and suffered terribly.  You suffered so much it broke all of our hearts to talk with you and hear your sadness and struggles in your life each day.  Den said, we wish we could have traded places with you….  Your life was so difficult for you…As Kari put it, “you loved life, just not your life”      We will never know the extent of your suffering…and we never said “I know what you are going through”  because we didn’t.  Mike, you had so much courage.  You had courage to live and wake up every morning to face your challenges even when you would wish in your heart that you would never have to wake up again..  Your last days were filled with even more challenges, still, you never quit, you never gave up and you never took your own life although you spoke of it often. In the last few months of your life it was evident you were searching for a new hope. You were trying to find answers to the difficult question of “why me” ?  I believe you were searching and you found your answers. You found God again.  You are at peace now, no more suffering, no more tears…… Not my will…. but Thy will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven. 
Mike,…. I’m going to miss you so very much.

Although I have not seen Mike for sometime, he still comes up in conversations quite frequently.  That alone should say what kind of impact he had on people that were lucky enough to know him.  I can only remember having great times with him and he was always so humerous.  My sympathies to his brothers and sisters.  Rest in peace Mike.

Dear Poirier Family, 
I'm sorry for your loss.I know you all loved and supported Mike, naturally you will miss him.  Your parents would be proud of the family they have raised because you are close and share love for one another, as families should.
My thoughts and love to you all.

My deepest sympathy to the Poirier family. I was shocked at the news of his passing, but I will remember the good times that me and Mike shared. He will be greatly missed. Mike was very special to me. May he rest in peace.

Mike was a the best, best friend anyone coud ever hope for. I knew Mike and I were gonna be that way the first time we met at Goddard Middle School. My family sends condolences to the Poirier's. He will be with Len and Maryanne til we all join them. Ease, joy and love, that was Mike.

Mike's passing was shock and at the same time was not surprising.  He is at peace and is whole now, and that for some reason brings comfort to those of us that are left behind.  He always kept his blinds open, because he wanted the light to shine in. He now is in eternal light, and will be so missed.  I loved Mike's humor, collection of Tweety's, and his quest to make his purpose here on earth whole.  Rest in Peace my Friend - We will see you on the other side....

To all the Poirier family.  One cannot imagine the loss of a sibling.  Mike was loved so well by all of you and many other friends. I'm so sorry for your loss...."We are confident, yes,well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord." 2Corinthians 5:8

Mike was the best friend of many people. He touched the lives of so many because of his desire to go explore. There always was a mission. My son and I will miss him greatly. Our condolences go out to the Poirier family. We are so sorry for your loss.

Mikey was my best friend and I have many great memories of our times together.  My prayers go to the siblings who loved and helped him thru their trying times.  He will be greatly missed by the Westphal family.

Poirier family, I am so sorry for the loss of your brother.  He will be greatly missed.  I loved him dearly and always will.  His happy humor and jokes always were highly entertaining.  I wish I could be there for his services.  I will be thinking of you and Mike at that time.

I'm sorry for the Poirier family, he was the baby of the family and will be sorely
missed. I sure have my fond memories of him and his family.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of the Poirier family.  MJ was such a sweet soul that had a contagious smile and a big heart.  May he rest in peace with Car and Len in heaven.
