Mildred Victoria Yacovetta Carmosino (Millie) was born in Denver, Colorado on February 4, 1932. She grew up in the legendary North Denver neighborhood along with her mother, two older brothers, and younger sister. Her grandparents on both sides originated from Italy, specifically from Naples and Villa San Michele. Although she was raised in poverty, she remembered her upbringing, neighborhood, and tight-knit Italian community with immense fondness and immeasurable pride. As a young woman, she enjoyed skiing, swimming, bowling, golfing, and of course, spending time with family and friends.
Upon graduation from North High School in the spring of 1949, Millie was hired to work in the mailroom at Denver National Bank. It was here where Millie would rise quickly through the ranks, and begin to leave her mark as a Denver pioneer. From the mailroom, she was promoted to the Installment-Credit Loan department, on her way to eventually becoming the first female to be promoted to officer of Denver National Bank's New Accounts department.
In 1957, her heart was taken by a young attorney, Albert (Al) Carmosino. In 1961, after a wonderful courtship that allowed their love to blossom and saw Al open his own successful law practice, they were married at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church. They spent the next decade cementing their legacy both in the North Denver community, and the city of Denver at large before relocating to their cherished forever home at Hiwan Country Club in Evergreen, CO.
Passionate givers to charities, and supporters of their Italian heritage and community, Al and Millie united many of their devoted friends and established the Rocky Mountain Italian Golf Association in 1977. For 38 years, the Rocky Mountain Golf and Bocce Festival was the principal fundraiser for The Association, which raised and donated over $1.5 million to local charities including CU Cancer Research, St. Anthony's Flight For Life, and Craig Hospital. Each year, Millie and Al worked tirelessly alongside dozens of volunteers and friends to make this event a celebrated staple of Denver history, and a cherished source of support for so many in need.
Millie enjoyed every minute of these festivals because of the good it did, and because of the opportunities provided to see old friends, make new friends, spend time with family, and celebrate the heritage that was such a huge part of her and Al's life together.

Millie is survived by her husband of 61 years, Albert Carmosino, her sister Virginia Kelly (Yacovetta), her sister-in-law Lucille (Bill) Sanders, and nieces and nephews Diane Yacovetta, Steven (Pam) Yacovetta, Laura Kraft, Daniel Yacovetta, Paul (Juli) Yacovetta, Donald Yacovetta, Annette (Benito) Sarlo, Sherri (John) Kilian, Michael Kelly, and Michelle (Robert Poe) Kelly.
