When I sold my old house and was waiting for them to finish building the new one, I moved in with my mom temporary. When they finished my new house, Mom and I came home one day to find an eviction notice that looked very real delivered and created by Dale. So he was kinda onry.

My dad was born July 1, 1942 in Denver, Colorado. He reconstructed a home in Bailey, CO, worked for Pepsi, and built up Tyler Lock and Key. Ohhh and yes, a volunteer cop as well while he lived in Bailey. Regardless of jobs, his real work was raising us and catching up with my mom. He was a hero! I look at his hobbies and enjoyment; stamps, trains, and coins. The one I saw the most, just like you, was trains. Sometimes I wonder why? Why trains? Trains always work and pull around passengers, freight, and cargo. They stay on track and follow the same path... then it hit me ....that's my dad! On the right track!!! Always taking care of his cars, pulling us through. He was and is our family caboose. The caboose provides shelter for the crew at the back of the train and also makes sure everything is going to plan. The caboose looks out for trouble and keeps damage low. Sure, he could be the engine, but I think he liked being in the back. Watching us stay in front. The highlight of his life was my mother. He loved her so much. Us too, but he never left her side. Some may say it was a simple small life circle, but for some, that's all that's needed. Pa, our family has grown. It continues to grow... your contributions may not have been blood, but the sweat, tears, and values are forever with this family. For my family, the torch has now been passed. I promise to lead and love, be faithful and loyal, just like my dad. I am our caboose now and we will forever miss you. Even after the train passes, it is forever remembered and cherished. We will all meet you at the train station in heaven one day :)

Where to begin? I guess first of all forgive my writing skills, not something I ever excelled at but thought it important to share a big thankyou to a special man that has done so much for our family and deeply loved. Dale was not the guy that needed to be the center of attention or in the spotlight, but he was always patiently in your corner, and you could count on him to come in and help at a moment's notice. It was in his nature to help others, always dependable always there for you when needed. He was the "jack of all trades" from wiring a switch, fixing a refrigerator to towing a car and family support. Pretty much anything you needed he would give it his best to save the day. For the younger family members, it may seem like a little tougher love was acquired with age and wisdom but have no doubt he loved and wanted the best for all. So, this is not a goodby, because Dale will always be in our heart thoughts and memories. Thanks Brother-in-law you will always be with me and have taught me a lot. rest in Peace Kurt

Forever in my heart <3
I’m going to miss our 3 o’clock visits.
I love you.
