This obituary is for a great, strong, and stubborn Woman, Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother. She was born January 21, 1946 in Fort Collins, Colorado, the daughter of the late "Poppa" (Thomas) and "Nanny" (Loraine) Owings. She leaves behind her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Myrla loved to fish with her late husband (Karl), garden, and find treasures. Myrla was well known for not holding back her opinion and had a knack for telling it like it is. She always told the truth even if it wasn't what you wanted to hear. If you dared to talk back, you'd better duck. These words of encouragement, wisdom, and sometimes comfort, kept us in line, taught us the "school of hard knocks" and gave us something to pass down to our children. She will be greatly missed.
Myrla is survived by her children: Lori Kostur, Robert Atz, and Tera Demo. Her 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Karl Manuel.
A private family memorial will be held in October, in lieu of a service. Please enjoy a drink in her honor.
