Myrtle Ann Morris passed away peacefully on Christmas Eve, 2025. She was 97 years old. Until the end, she was quick to share her beautiful smile. She maintained her kindness and grace, her faith in Christianity, her love of God and of her family and friends.
Myrtle Ann was born in Seldon, Kansas on September 25, 1928. She grew up in Evans and Greeley, Colorado where she graduated high school as valedictorian, and married her husband, Orland Morris, on June 2, 1946. They had four children, Ricki, Orlene, Charlotte and Arthur.
Professionally, Myrtle Ann served as an Executive Secretary for School District #6 in Greeley. She and Orland eventually built their dream home in the mountains near Meeker, Colorado and moved there where she was employed as Secretary to the President of Estes Park Bank. Myrtle Ann and Orland moved to Roswell, New Mexico where they lived for 30 years and operated a Therapeutic Massage Clinic. Myrtle Ann was Executive Secretary to the President of the Roswell Chamber of Commerce. At that time, she brought President Ronald Reagan to Roswell for the Chamber’s Annual Meeting celebration. While in New Mexico, she was also President of the American Business Women's Association for two years.
Myrtle Ann was a talented seamstress creating matching dresses for her three daughters and matching pajamas for all four of her children for many years as Christmas presents. She was an expert at crochet and knitting and produced many beautiful afghans, scarves, winter hats and ponchos. She and Orland built elaborate dollhouses for their granddaughters. She loved to play the organ, to read and investigate family history.
In her eyes, her greatest accomplishment of all was raising her four children and sharing in their lives as well as in the lives of her grandchildren (9) and great-grandchildren (12, with one more expected in March).
Myrtle Ann was dearly loved and will remain forever close in our hearts.
