On May 8th, 2026, Nancy Ann Medina Walser joined her father - Tobias (Toby) Medina, her mother - Rachel Miera Medina, and her brother - Raymond Joseph Medina. Nancy is survived by her husband William Walser; her two brothers: Gary L. Medina and Mark A. Medina; her two children Jacob M. Medina and Rachel T. Medina; and multiple stepchildren, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Nancy was born and raised in Pueblo with a brief hiatus in Aguilar for two years after her mother died. She graduated from East High school and got her BSW from CSU- Pueblo. Nancy loved to cook and bake. She was a cook at Carl's drive in and had a small baking business of her own. After she got her BSW she worked for Spanish Peaks Mental Health Center and was a Crisis worker at Parkview Hospital.
In 1994 she moved to Denver and worked for Jefferson Center for Mental Health for over 25 years. At Jefferson Center she was a hospital liaison, working closely with Fort Logan hospitalized patients. Later on, she worked closely with the State Hospital in Pueblo helping newly released patients assimilate into society. Nancy was loved and respected by all she worked with for her ability to tell it like it was and fearlessness to question decisions that higher ups made that she knew were wrong for the client. The mental health community lost a strong advocate for the mentally ill when Nancy retired.
Throughout her life, Nancy was always open to talk with others that were having a crisis in their life, whether it be family or friends. Nancy made a lot of friends through Facebook with all the groups she belonged to and has helped many of them through their own personal crises. Some of the groups Nancy belonged to were crafting related, genealogy related, photography related. Some significant games she played on the computer were. Mafia Wars for several years and Words with Friends
However, the biggest group that Nancy belonged to is her family. She was passionate about her family. She has a cup that says Momma Bear and that was really who she was: the Matriarch and don't mess with them. She was dearly loved and will be deeply missed by all her family.
