Nasarita "Betty" Gonzales

Nasarita Gonzales “Betty” left her earthly body on December 8, 2022, at the age of 85. Betty was born in Chama, NM in 1937 to Feliberto and Louisa Lovato Rodriquez. She was the second youngest of ten. Betty attended school in Chama until she moved to Denver, CO with her parents in 1952. Betty went to Manual High School in Denver and graduated in 1956.

On New Year's Eve in 1955, Betty’s love for dancing led her to Rupert Gonzales. In 1958 they were married and had four beautiful children, Rory, Michael, Ben, and Valerie. Betty and Rupert started their own business of purchasing and maintaining rental properties. Betty split her time between caring for her children and sustaining her properties. She was never afraid to get her hands dirty.

Betty was a very classy lady whose elegance showed through in every aspect of her life. Her smile could light up a room and her personality was full of love and humor. She loved her family more than anything and worked hard to teach them to succeed in life. When people describe Betty, it is always as a loving, friendly, and easy-going person who was a joy to be around. She loved to travel and was able to go to several countries and places over the years. She enjoyed listening to music and Michael Bolton and Freddy Fender were among her favorites.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents Feliberto and Louisa Rodriquez, brother Eli Rodriquez, and sisters Lola Sandoval, Ruth Gonzales, Susan Valdez, Ruby Valdez, Delores Rael, and June Sedillo. She is survived by her sisters Helen Trujillo, Minnie Langford, and Catherine Jones; children Rory Gonzales, Michael Gonzales (Tracy), Ben Gonzales (Heather), and Valerie Duran (Christopher); twelve grandchildren Desiree Gonzales, Lyndsey Gonzales, Alecia Gonzales, Erica Gonzales, Dominick Gonzales, Jewelanne Duran, Anthony Gonzales, Joseph Gonzales, Seth Gonzales, Nevaeh Gonzales, Harmony Gonzales, and Christian Duran; three great-grandchildren Harley Gonzales, Hayden Ramos, and Turalyon Alsosa, and many nephews and nieces all of whom loved her deeply.

A Visitation will be on Thursday, December 29, 2022, at 5:00 PM, and a Rosary for Betty will be held on Thursday, December 29, 2022 at 6:00 PM. On Friday, December 30, 2022, at 12:00 PM there will be a Funeral Mass. All will be held at Spirit of Christ Catholic Community, 7400 W. 80th Ave., Arvada, CO 80003. There will be a reception immediately following at Westminster Christian Church, 3575 W. 96th Ave., Westminster, CO 80031
