Nora Alice Fiala, age 101 years and 4 months passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her loved ones on February 16, 2019. She was born on October 17, 1917 in Caldwell County, Kentucky to Ernest Duke and Lillie Belle Crowder. She moved with her family to Colorado at age 19. She met and later married Joe Edwin Fiala on December 16, 1944, in Cheyenne, Wyoming, who preceded her in death on December 21, 1987.
Nora was always a hard worker and dedicated employee. She worked at Coors Porcelain beginning in 1952 when her first child and son Joe Edwin was three years old. In 1956 she resigned before the birth of her second child, daughter Judy Ann. After raising her family, she returned to work as a waitress at Wyatt’s Cafeteria until 1984 when she retired at the age of 67, in order to care for her husband in their home.
Nora loved caring for her family, kept an immaculate home and yard; she never sat still.
Nora is survived by her son Joe Fiala, and wife Betsy; daughter Judy Fiala; her four granddaughters and their spouses: Brooke and Tyler Hansen, Holly and Bobby Powell, Robin and Keith Brothers, Rachel and Andrew Parker; her three great grandsons: A.J. Powell, Victor Powell, and Logan Brothers; her two sisters: Johnnie Mae Mester and Mary Kathleen Grosch, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Nora was preceded in death by her parents E.D. and Lillie Crowder and three brothers: Lewis Evins, Robert Alexander and Cordy Wayne Crowder.
Nora cherished her family and they truly loved her.
First and foremost, Nora was a dedicated mother. She cherished her children and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved being a grandmother and great grandmother. She had a vivacious personality and always made those around her laugh.
Nora will be deeply missed by all those who truly knew her.
