Norman F. Seidel (79) of Matthews, NC passed away peacefully at home on April 22. Born August 6, 1941 in Wilkes-Barre, PA to Elmer and Eve Seidel, Norm was the older of two boys. His family moved to Denver in 1947 and operated Denver Fish Company, a family wholesale seafood distribution and breaded onion ring manufacturing plant, where he started working at the age of 10.
Norman was a member of the Highlander Boys, an organization started in 1916 by George Olinger, a prominent Denverite. He attended Denver Public Schools where he met his wife Martha as juniors at South High School. They were later married in June of 1963. He attended the University of Colorado, earning a Bachelor of Science in Small Business Management/Marketing and was a US Naval Reserve Officer Training Candidate.
Norm was a proud US Navy veteran. Norman enjoyed a 60+ year career in the food industry, beginning in the family seafood business and later starting his own food brokerage. He prided himself in the highest level of professionalism, enthusiasm, and dedication. He was beloved by colleagues and known across the industry for his knowledge of seafood and elaborate ship displays that were the talk of food shows and demos from coast to coast.
