Thought of Judge Weeks today and  hated to hear of her passing...but by her testament it is our loss but her gain.  I interned under Judge Weeks in 2005 ...she meant business and I am the better for it. So sad I just learned of this now.

When I was 12 years old, I was placed a ward to the State, and it was Judge Weeks, that followed my case for the next 6 years of my life.  She is a inportant part of whome I am today.  I am sad to see her go... Rest in Peace.

As a child protection worker, I appeared in front of Judge Weeks many, many times during her time on the bench.  I respected her because I always felt she was very concerned about the children we both served, albeit in different capacities.  I felt that she tried to be fair to all parties involved.  I could tell that she actually read the voluminous reports that we were required to write.  That meant a lot.  Her example benefitted many of us.

When she was in better health, I remember that she and Mr. Weeks were very generous to Front Range Organic Gardeners and the Rocky Mountain Chapter of the Herb Society of America at their annual plant sale.  She knew that the FROG profits benefitted non-profit groups serving at-risk people and teaching organic gardening to them.

My deepest sympathy for Judge Weeks.  I practice law with her husband, and am a fellow alum of Alamosa High School.  She blazed trails and had such a distinguished career.  Rest in peace.

I was saddened to learn of Orrelle's death. We met when she joined me as a deputy in the Denver District Attorney's office at a time when women deputy district attorneys were a novelty in Colorado. It has been gratifying to follow her career over the years.

I worked for Judge Orrelle Weeks as a personnel and training officer at the Denver Juvenile Court in the mid 1970's, just in time to celebrate the Court's 100 year anniversary.  As a presiding judge she was an astute and conscientious administrator who always had in mind the best interest of the children and families who passed through our doors. I enjoyed seeing the pictures of her that reflected the many decades of her good works.  She will be missed.

My deepest sympathy in the passing of Orrelle She was a friend and Deputy Denver District Attorney at the time I served as a Deputy At my insistence Bert Keating the District Attorney allowed Orrelle to try a homicide felony case with me in Denver District Court To my knowledge Orrelle was the first woman to try a felony case in Colorado Women prosecutors in Denver were only allowed to handle non support cases Orrelle was an outstanding lawyer and an outstanding judge

Judge Weeks was the first judge whom I appeared before when I was a brand new juvenile law practitioner in Denver Juvenile Court in 1993.  21 years later, I continue to practice in this field and often ask myself: what would Judge Weeks want to know about this case?   What would she think?  What would she do?  Always thoughtful and thorough, she expected excellence from attorneys and decorum at all times in her courtroom. She served Denver's children and families well.

I spent 8 years working in Judge Weeks Courtroom as a Victim Advocate. I truly enjoyed going to work every day because I knew I would be in her courtroom.  She treated everyone with such dignity and respect and made everyone feel special.  Not only was she the Judge in the courtroom I worked but I felt as though she was my friend.  I held her in such high regard and will truly miss her.  My prayers are with her family and I know they know what a marvelous woman she was.  She was such a strong role model for us all.  She will be missed and her memory will live on forever through us all.  Cindy Torres

I spent seven years in Judge Weeks courtroom as a victim advocate with the Denver District Attorney's Office.  My first day there she called me up to the podium and wanted the reader's digest version of my life and education. :) The truth is most advocates rotate out of juvenile in a few years but, I stayed there until she retired because she was not only an amazing Judge but a wonderful human being.  I truly feel blessed and honored to have been able to work in her court.  She was tough with high expectations of all that entered into her domain but, she was fair, kind and compassionate.  I truly feel like she spent her life trying to do the right thing and that is such an admirable quality.  My prayers to her family and all those who love her.
