The Hon. Orrelle R. Weeks passed into eternal life on Sunday, June 15, 2014. Orrelle was born in Pueblo, Colorado and graduated from Alamosa High School as valedictorian of her class. She obtained her undergraduate degree followed by a Juris Doctor in Law from the University Of Colorado School of Law. Orrelle began her legal career as a deputy district attorney from 1962 to 1971, when she was appointed a Juvenile Court Magistrate. In 1973, Orrelle was appointed by Governor John Love as a Juvenile Court Judge and later that year she was appointed by Chief Justice Edward Pringle of the Colorado Supreme Court as Presiding (Chief) Judge of the Denver Juvenile Court. She served in that position until 1994. She retired from the bench in 2007 after 36 years of dedicated service. Over her career, she was the recipient of numerous civic and professional awards. She is survived by her devoted husband Randall, her pet Miko, extended family, and close friends. A celebration of life is set for Monday, June 23, 2014 at 10:00 a.m., Olinger Crown Hill Chapel, West 29th Avenue and Wadsworth Blvd. Contributions in lieu of flowers suggested to Denver Children’s Home and Laradon.
