I already miss calling Paul on the phone "Pablo from Pueblo" when he answered; "Ronald McDonald" he would say back to me.  I met Paul in Kindergarten and we remained friends forever.  I especially remember what a great boxing referee Paul was as he made Colorado history being the last to officiate a fifteen round championship match at Mammoth Gardens. Paul was my cousin when we were around 13-14 years old we played soft ball together I was the pitcher and Paul was the catcher, I called about a month Paul in Los Vegas from California and thanked him for being there and thanked him for being such a great catcher with all his chatter and dominance he would scare the heck out of those batters, I never got the chance to find out how Paul took my praising him so much, I only wish now he would have gotten that pitching award he truly deserved it, but I do feel good about calling him no.

When I think of Paul, I have to smile.  He and Liz always had time for my Grandpa and Granny.  I remember being a kid and seeing them drive up on the motorcycle, or in the dune buggy. Seems like yesterday I saw Paul aka.. (Mack Daddy) at my house. He and Liz would always make a special appearance to come and visit me. He was larger than life and had a BIG heart.I am truly going to miss our times together as a family. Words cannot express the sadness in my heart, but anyone who knew Paul knew that he wanted a "Celebration" when he died. He wanted Kool & the Gang to perform at his funeral, but we don't need Kool & the Gang because we will always "Celebrate" him in our hearts.

Paul (Polly) and I met in the sixth grade at Barnum Elementary School. We walked to Rishel Junior High together on West Alameda (along with my cousin Joe Gallegos, and Carl & Ernie Jaramillo). In later years, I played a lot of golf with Paul. He had a great sense of humor. He was a very decent man. Polly was a good friend. He will be missed. Richard N. Gonzales.

Paul was a wonderful husband, father and loving "Grandpa". He was a man who knew "no strangers". When he entered a room, his bigger than life personality was the first thing you noticed about him. Paul loved, loved, loved his family. He also loved every R&B song from the 60's, 70's and 80's. He would always have his music with him where ever he traveled. I remember when my daughter was lying near death in a coma. He and Liz made a special trip from Denver to come and visit her. She never knew they were there, but her family did. He had a huge heart and he shared it with all that he loved.Liz, Paulette, Adrian, Serena, Elisha and Derek, your Omaha family wants you to know that Jesus is carrying you through this time of mourning and you are in our prayers.

Paul was my brother-in-law and we were all very close to Paul and my sister Liz, even more  when they moved here to Las Vegas. My wife Stella and my sister Liz  and friend Rose would call, Paul, my brother Tony and I the, "Three amigos".  or should I say, "Four Amigos" when our friend Joe Gallegos and his wife Shirley would come from Denver to visit, we all did so many things together just about every day of the week, weather it would be to go down the strip or to go out to eat or to the movies.. We had such great fun when we were all together, we just had our first weekend with out Paul here in Las Vegas and it was not a easy day for us. Just like we know it has been a long week for my sister Liz and niece Paulette and nephew Adrian, but we are thinking of you. We will truly miss our brother-in-law Paul, but Paul has left us with so many memories that we will always cherish in our hearts. To my sister- Liz, we love you and we will be here for you, no matter what..

I remember Paul (Peanut) from West High School hanging out at the corner before and after school. Then when I found out he was the grandfather of my new granddaughter, (Serena Vigil) that was the best of all! Paul was part of my youth, my teenage years, my high school days, and even my college years.. His advice and kind words always was welcome and very supportive. I miss you Paul. Your support and love through my cancer was so helpful. Rest in Peace my friend.

I remember all the fun I had with Paul on the West High School Singing Christmas Tree, both in High School and the Alumni Performances. My best memory is his dancing. He was one of the boys who could dance and I enjoyed watching and dancing with him at the celebrations of the tree. You will be missed my friend. Rest in Peace.
