Peggy Lou Hansen, age 79, passed away on November 8, 2025. Peggy was born in Madison, South Dakota, and raised on the family farm west of Ramona. She graduated from Winfred High School and went on to attend Nettleton College and Platte College.
In November 1969, she married Marol Hansen, and together they made their home in Denver, Colorado. Peggy worked for the telephone company, where she retired after 25 years of dedicated service.
Peggy and Marol were passionate Denver sports fans — cheering on the Rockies, Nuggets, Broncos, and Avalanche whether in the stands or from their living room. If a game was on, ESPN was always tuned in.
In retirement, Peggy found joy as an avid antique and collectibles dealer, running her own little shop filled with treasures and stories. She also enjoyed making homemade cards, embroidery, playing golf, and traveling the world with Marol.
Peggy was surrounded by friends and loved ones throughout her life. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Marol; her parents, Marcus and Myrtle; and her brother, Melvin.
She is survived by her two nieces, Teresa and Jennifer, three great-nephews — Wiatt, Connor, and Tim — her great-niece Katelyn, and her great-great-nephew Oliver.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, November 17, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Olinger Chapel Hill Mortuary in Denver, Colorado.
Peggy will be remembered for her warmth, creativity, and adventurous spirit — a woman who found beauty in simple things, joy in every journey, and excitement in every ball game.
