

He was born in Yampa, Colorado on June 30, 1933 to Davis and Bessie Reid. He married Marjorie Schachterle on September 1, 1953 in Denver, Colorado. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers: Albert, John, Edwin, Donald and two sisters: Rosie and Winifred.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Marjorie Reid; three daughters: Dawn and Rev. Robert Drake of Sierra Vista, Arizona, Susan and Roger Bohning of Springfield, Missouri, and Twila and Rev. Kevin Vander-Plas of Lubbock, Texas; nine grandchildren: Heather Drake, Heidi and Jonathan Doudna, Rev. Nathan and Danielle Drake, Rev. Jordan Drake, Carrie and Jeremy Bates, Carmen and Travis Bradshaw, Claire and Rev. Matt South, Stephanie Vander-Plas, and Kristen Vander-Plas; eleven great-grandchildren; one brother, Rev. Evan Reid of Salida, Colorado; extended relatives, and a host of friends.
Pastor Reid was a credentialed minister with the Assemblies of God for 64 years. He served as a Bible Institute Dean, and was Founder and President of Mid-Western Bible Institute of Greeley, Colorado. He pastored churches in Colorado, Missouri, California, Texas, and Hawaii, and evangelized throughout America and in overseas missions. He was presently serving on staff at First Assembly of God in Sierra Vista, Arizona as Pastor to the Senior Adults. His greatest joy in life was to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and lead a congregation to a closer walk with his Savior. He was a gifted author, composer, and artist.
A memorial service is planned for Friday, March 28, 2014 at 12:00 Noon in Denver, Colorado at Olinger Mortuary, 7777 West 29th Avenue, Wheat Ridge, Colorado, 80033. The business phone number is 303-233-4611. A second memorial service will be held the following Friday, April 4, 2014 at First Assembly of God, 840 N. Lenzer in Sierra Vista, Arizona at 11:00 a.m.
His children wish to thank his wife, Marjorie, for her support as his spouse and companion, and her compassionate care during the time of his passing. We are also grateful for the help we received from the staff of Dr. Mark Carnett, and all of the caregivers from Hospice.
