The family of Richard Martin Bishop, age 68, is deeply saddened to announce his peaceful passing on Sunday, June 29th, at the University of Colorado Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Richard fought a long and courageous battle with lung cancer, demonstrating strength, and resilience throughout his journey. His physical strength and determination allowed him to endure numerous surgeries and treatments, all in the hope of spending more time with the people he loved most, especially his grandchildren.
He was born on January 14, 1957, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and moved to Colorado at a young age. At 22, he married his loving wife, Lori, on September 1, 1979. Together, they built a close-knit and loving family. His deep devotion to his wife and children, especially their son with special needs, was truly heartwarming. For 40 years, they have made their home in Westminster, Colorado, where they continue to care for and support their son.
Richard had an exceptional work ethic and was a highly skilled craftsman, there was nothing he could not fix. His talents, reliability, and willingness to help made him someone that others could always depend on. Whether it was lending a hand or solving a problem, Richard was always there when needed.
Above all, Richard’s life was defined by his deep love and devotion to his family. Everything he did was for them. He worked hard to ensure they were always cared for, supported, and surrounded by love. His quiet strength, steady presence, and dedication will be profoundly missed but never forgotten. He will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family.
