He will be remembered fondly by family and friends as a loving husband, dear father, and fun-loving brother.
His career spanned 47+ years as a microbiologist at Lutheran and St Joseph's hospitals, where he made lifelong friends of many colleagues.
A Colorado native, Richard enjoyed golfing, watching the Denver Broncos, staying at the condo in Breckenridge, and most of all, playing cards with his family on Friday nights.
His wife, Carol, was an excellent cook and he enjoyed all her meals, but loved her baked goods above all else. Richard's sweet tooth craved everything from donuts to ice cream, cookies, and pie.
Just like his own father, he loved to eat breakfast out at any restaurant with a delicious omelet or giant burrito. He was always happy playing video poker and eating meals with his adored siblings. But then he often rushed home to spend time with his cherished cat, Boris.
May this lovely, funny, kind, and wonderful man rest in peace.
Please join the family for a small gathering to celebrate Richard's life with a light offering of desserts served in honor of his love for sweets.
