

Richard Milton Wilson was born on March 28th 1929 in Denver, CO to George Milton Wilson and Winfred Finney Wilson. He graduated from Union High School in 1946 and joined the Navy right out of high school at age 17. After serving 2 years in the Navy he returned home and then went to work for the Rio Grand Railroad as an electrician.
On April 13th 1952 Rich married Anita Oliver and they adopted 2 children, David and Karen. Rich and Anita were blessed not only to be the parents of David (wife Bonnie) and Karen (husband Berned Manzanares II) but also to be grandparents! David had 2 girls, Erin (Josh) and Libby, Karen had a son Jacob (Reda)! After working for 43 years for the Rio Grande Railroad, Rich decided to retire. Rich and Anita lived in Wheatridge CO and had many happy years together until Anita’s death in 1997. In 1999 Rich was blessed with a great granddaughter, Bailey and in 2003 a great grandson Bryan (mother to both Erin). In 2009 Rich’s grandson Jacob had a daughter Delaney and in 2022 another daughter Emma.
In 1999 Rich was introduced to Shirley Connor who had known his sister Margie in high school. After “dating” for a few years Rich married Shirley in Hawaii. When Rich married Shirley he became a step-dad to Dan (Sharon), Cindy (Frank), and Robin (Joe). He also became the bonus grandpa to Amy (Lance), Lori, Doug (Michele), Suzanne (Kevin), Danny (Leanna), and Jayla. He is also a bonus great-grandpa to 13 and great great-grandpa to 7.
Rich leaves behind his wife of 23 years, Shirley and his 2 children David and Karen and 1 brother Dale Wilson.
