

He was born December 9th, 1925, in Denver, CO, the youngest of four children born to Donald and Mary (Torrence) Brady. He attended Manual High School in Denver where he was All-State track in the mile run and also played trumpet in the marching band.
Shortly after graduating from high school in 1943 he was drafted into the United States Army. He served as part of 96th Infantry Division that fought in the Pacific Theater during WWII and participated in the Battle for Leyte during the invasion of the Philippines and also the Battle of Okinawa later in the war.
After being honorably discharged in 1946 he returned to Denver and worked as a bleacher and dyer in a textile mill and also in the tool crib at Frontier Airlines where, through acquaintances there, he would meet his future wife, Barbara.
On October 16th, 1947, he married Barbara Wilson at Loyola Church in Denver. To this union nine children were born. He was a hard-working and dedicated husband and father, often working long hours and multiple jobs to support his young wife and family.
After a short-lived stint with the Denver Police Department, he took a security job with Dow Chemical and remained on the security force there until 1953 when he transferred to production as a process operator at the newly constructed Rocky Flats Plant.
He remained there until his retirement in 1988 and always maintained a great pride in his work at the plant and the role he played in helping The United States win the Cold War.
During his 25 years in retirement he enjoyed fishing, traveling, and spending time with his family.
Robert is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Barbara, his nine children, Robert (Patt), Daniel (Maxine), Mary, Kathy (Bill), Margaret (Mike), Sharon (Gene), Susan, Janet (Patrick), Dianne, 29 grandchildren, and 27 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Donald Brady, and one sister, Delores Marquez.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Margaret Wade.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 6:00 pm, Sunday September 15, 2013 at St Joseph Catholic Church, 969 Ulysses Street, Golden, CO. 80401 with the Rosary being said at 6:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, September 16, 2013 also at the church. Interment to follow at Fort Logan National Cemetery at 12:30 pm with reception to follow.
