R D was born in Nebraska to Bernard and Esther Gates in 1921. He married Maxine G McIntyre in Raton, New Mexico in 1950. They were happily married until her passing in 2001.
Survivors include R D’s loving son Kirk Gates, his brother Lowell Gates, and granddaughter Kai’leigh Gates.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father Esther and Bernard, and his loving wife Maxine.
R D will be missed beyond measure by his son Kirk, family, and many friends.
