Italian immigrant parents, Frank Leo and Virginia (Mazza) Leo. He was born and raised in
Denver and there until his death on August 25th, 2021 at the age 81. He is survived by his wife
Linnie Leo of 53 years, along with son, Robert Mark Leo, daughter, Lori Ann Chandler, Nephew
Lester Crum (Karen) and 3 grandchildren.
He attended primary school at Saint Elizabeth’s until 7th grade where he then transferred to Old
St. Patrick’s School. He was selected for a scholarship to Regis High school where he placed
top 10 of his class. As a sophomore, Bob elected to attend Mt. Carmel High School where he
would graduate from in 1950.
At a young age Bob enjoyed music, motorcycles and had a passion for interior design. He
purchased his first motorcycle in 1964 but his riding days were short lived due to a serious
accident in 1966 that nearly took his life. After a miraculous recovery he studied fine arts at the
University of Colorado at Denver and completed his higher education at the Colorado Institute of
Art in Interior Design.
Bob and Linnie were married at Mt Carmel Church on November 10th, 1979 and would enjoy a
tremendously successful career together in interior design with a specialty in custom window
coverings. He has been a dedicated Mt Carmel benefactor by donating his time and talent to
numerous interior design projects throughout the years. He held an associate membership with
the American Society of Interior Designers and together with his partners created a highly
specialized computer program which would lead to opening over 300 custom window covering
franchises across the nation. After years in the corporate world Bob slowed down by opening a
smaller mom-and-pop business in north Denver where he would finish his career after selling
Windows Dressed Up to close friends in 2018.
Throughout his life a passion for music would lead him to learn to play tenor saxophone and his
talent earned him the opportunity to travel across the country playing with big names such as
Eddie Cochran and Chuck Berry. Later in life Bob would revisit his love for motorcycles,
becoming the president of a local motorcycle club where he made many lifelong friends.
Bob’s passion for life, creativity, wit, tenacity, and strength will be missed by many.
A funeral service for Bobby will be held Thursday, September 9, 2021 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, 3549 Navajo St., Denver, CO 80211. Following the funeral service will be a committal service f at Olinger Crown Hill Mortuary & Cemetery, 7777 West 29th Ave, Wheat Ridge, CO 80033.
