
Born January 23, 1929 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Denver Colorado. He passed away October 1st, 2010 at Autumn Heights Care Center in Denver Colorado. His father Ernest L. Hill Sr., his mother Elsie J. Hill, his brother Ernest L. Hill Jr. and sister Harriett Sherlock, preceded Rolland in death. He is survived by his wife Anna Marie Hill, his three children, Gene E. Hill (Misty), Stephanie S. Stroud (Lee), and Rolland E. Hill Jr., three grand children Stephen M. Hill (Laura), Jeffrey S. Hill, and Anna K. Kasperbauer (David) and four great-grand children Ethan H. Hill, Isaac M. Hill, Marin K. Kasperbauer, and Bowen V. Kasperbauer.
He graduated from The University of Denver with a Bachelors of Arts degree in education in 1953, and The University of Northern Colorado with a Masters of Arts in Guidance Counseling in 1958. He was a teacher, a coach, and counselor from 1953 to 1978 in Greeley Colorado public schools and Adams County School District #14 Commerce City Colorado. Officiated Basketball all over the state of Colorado from 1955 to 1975 for mostly High School. His earlier recreational pastimes were “Practicing” Fly Fisherman as was also his father’s along with several successful hunting trips with the guys, but his enduring passion was as he put it, “Played golf every reasonable chance I ever had.” A memorial service will be held at The Olinger Crown Hill Chapel, 7777 W. 29th Ave. Wheat Ridge CO. Thursday October 7th 2010 at 3:00 PM with viewing in the chapel starting at 2:00 PM. Immediately following the service, will be a gathering for his loved ones and friends, at 2900 Purcell Street, Clubhouse, Brighton Colorado.
