Ronald Michael Kinsey, lovingly known as Ron or Ronnie to those he grew up with, passed away on August 31, 2025 in Wheat Ridge, Colorado at the age of 69 following complications of an unexpected event. Born on May 29, 1956, in Denver, Colorado, Ron was a friend to all who were lucky enough to know him—cherished for his light-hearted humor, gentle spirit, patience, listening ear and unending kindness.
A Colorado native, Ron grew up in Wheat Ridge and spent his childhood having fun with his older brother, Dennis. They spent the summers going to the Lakeside speedway together, setting off fireworks, and going to the greyhound races. He graduated from Jefferson High School in 1974 as a star athlete. After graduation, he attended Lamar Community College where he played baseball, eventually completing his degree at University of Northern Colorado. Following college, he worked at Frontier airlines, making many friends along the way. Ron built a distinguished career as a real estate broker for more than forty years, earning the respect and friendship of many in his community. His devotion to family and his Italian heritage shone brightly throughout his life, whether he was making pizzelles at Christmas time with his daughter, Ally, organizing annual Italian family reunions, playing morra, or gathering with friends at summer feasts. Ron held on to all the old family photos and was the ambassador of dating old photos for the Pergola family picnic, all the way back to 1960. He loved to eat sausage pie around Easter and was a beloved regular at his favorite restaurant, Amici’s. He admired and appreciated his roots, whether it was his friends, neighbors, classmates, or Italian ancestry.
Ron delighted in simple pleasures—tending his garden (specifically his tomatoes), traveling, and relaxing outdoors with a cigar and company. He especially treasured time spent with his daughter and his loving partner, Mo, including many memorable trips to Nashville.
Ron is survived by his daughter, Ally Kinsey; his brother, Dennis (Kathy) Kinsey; his nieces Shannon Rahwa, Erin Kinsey, and Kari Gillespie; his nephew Kelly Kinsey; his ex-wife and life long friend, Amy Kinsey; his loving partner, Maureen Chiasson; and a wide circle of friends and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arnold and Louise Kinsey.
A memorial service for Ron will be held Friday, September 19, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Olinger Crown Hill - 7777 West 29th Ave, Wheat Ridge, CO 80033, followed by a reception from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
There will be an additional celebration of life for Ron’s close friends and family following the reception at 5:30 PM at 4020 N Estes St. Wheat Ridge, Colorado 80033 catered by Ron’s favorite restaurant Amici’s and Vinnola’s for dessert. Please bring a Hawaiian shirt to wear for the celebration of life if you have one.
As 1 Corinthians 13:4–8 reminds us: “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.”
Ron’s legacy is one of love, laughter, and generosity, and he will be deeply missed.
