My name is Floyd Edwards. Ron was my Pastor and my friend.
The standout memory is when we hicked to ThunderLake in RMP and ran out of time to get back to the parking lot. It was a 10 mile (each way arduous hike).  We both wound up sitting the night out in bear country. It was along night - but it generated a fine memory.
I cherish the memory and will reconnect with him in Heaven some day.

I worked with Ron at Rocky Flats when I was in Security Ops and Ron was a Captain.  Ron was the best of the best and I liked and admired him tremendously.  I knew that I could always trust Ron and what he told me.  Not only was he great professionally but he was such a genuinely nice person with a warm smile for everyone. I've lived in Phoenix since I retired and didn't know about Ron's passing until I read the note in the Rocky Flats Retirement mag this afternoon.   Thank you for posting the video tribute to Ron.   Seeing all the pictures of Ron brought back such good memories of what a special man he was.   

Jerry and I became members of Messiah Lutheran Church in 1973 as we moved here from Nebraska .
We have so many fond memories of Pastor Ron and his wife Pat and family.
Will never forget all of the friends we made and the fun we had as members of the "couples club" .
Ron baptized our son Joel and we cherish the pictures taken at that time in 1976. 
Joel and Mike Leach became friends in Sunday School. 
The latest memories were when we  visited with him at a Christmas  gathering at  the home of Floyd and Lois Edwards in Longmont just a few years ago.
God blessed us all with Pastor Ron.



I spent many years at RF and I have to say, the most memorable ones were spent working with Ron and other security personnel. Ron was always so caring and understanding, and he took great pride in everything he did. I feel so privileged  to have known Ron and will never forget how he instilled the good in everyone he came in contact with.  My thoughts and prayers go out to Ron's family.

I worked with Ron at Rocky Flats, he was one of the best Captains we had. He was kind with a strong sense of what was right and wrong. He stood up for us when we made an honest mistake and held us responsible when were wrong. He was a true leader and we trusted him as he trusted us. I'm sorry for your loss and he will be missed. The  family will be in my prayers. 

It was a honor to have known and worked with Ron , a man who stood up with you on any issue, was a honest and true American.  I was blessed to have him perform our marriage ceremony 35 year's ago, renewed our commitment at 25 years, one of our most cherished memories.  Ron was respected by all who knew him, all of his Rocky Flats Security family will miss him.  Prayers to his family,  know that we all will cherish the time we had with him, as a co worker, friend and leader!

I remember Pastor Leach from when I was a girl in Colorado.  Growing up, he had such a great influence on my life.  I am thankful for all that he did for us 'confirmands' and for his congregation.  We are praying for your family during this time of loss <3

Ron was our first (and most cherished) Pastor in Colorado.
Floyd remembers when he and Ron ran out of time on a 13 mile hike to Thunder Lake. We spent the night in darkness. Pat and Lois were perplexed! A warm memory of a fine friend. They (Ron and Pat) are both missed and with God.

Angie, sorry to hear about your dad. We were members at Messiah in Longmont when your dad was pastor. We also attended your moms funeral.
Your dad and my husband Joe, were in heaven for Easter(Joe died April 8, 2020).
I send my heartfelt condolences to you and your family and remember a very special man.



Angie, Tony, Gia and Vince, so very sorry for your loss of a father, grandfather and friend. 
Thinking of you and praying for some comfort for you all. 


Ron and I met as members of a task force for a project for Synod's mission board back in the 60s in Saint Louis. We found ourselves kindred spirits, became close friends. Angie, you may remember visiting at our house. I came to Colorado, your family was here! Flo was Ron's secretary. I mourn her as you do your Dad. We mourn in hope. Al Schroeder.
