Also, during this time in the army, he went to school and received a diploma for cooking. He cooked for many military personal at several Mess Halls over the world. Ronald was also a member of the Grand Aerie Fraternal Order of Eagles. After the military he settled down and raised a family. He was a kind and compassionate person. He worked as a plumber and owned his own company for some time. In his latter years he worked for Gates Rubber Company and retired there with a disability due to a back injury. Ronald and his wife Maida devoted their time to raising their grandkids while their parents worked. Ronald took time to help anyone in the neighborhood with anything they needed help with. He would help all the kids in the neighborhood fix their bikes or anything that needed fixing. All the kids would also call him grandpa. He was loved by everyone he crossed paths with. He was an avid person who went around collecting cans and turning them into cash. He would throw them into the ally and run over them until they were crushed and then load them into a big trailer he had.
