Born on May 26, 1941, in Salida, Colorado, Ron was the son of Harold and Helene Stevens. He spent his formative years in Denver and Grand Junction, experiences that shaped the course of his life. He graduated from Grand Junction High School, attended Mesa Junior College, and earned a degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Colorado.
Ron married Mary Louise Davies in 1965 in Edgewater, Colorado. They met on a blind date, and despite forgetting his wallet, they had a second date and a loving 60-year partnership. In addition to Mary, Ron is survived by his sister, Karen White (Bob), his sons Mark (Randy Snodgrass) and Wayne (Chris Kirkpatrick), and by his granddaughters Allison, Maddy, and Maya.
Ron was an avid sports fan throughout his life, particularly golf and soccer. He found joy in his engineering work, on the golf course, and dedicated time to coaching youth soccer teams.
