Rose (Felix) Anderson (75) peacefully passed away September 9, 2018, surrounded by her loving family.

Born to Miguel and Aurora Felix on May 27, 1943, in Denver, CO, Rose was the baby of the family, having three older brothers and two older sisters. Rose graduated from Annunciation High School in 1961 and the following year married Walter “Sonny” Anderson. Rose worked for Sears for 35 years, handling a variety of positions in the distribution warehouse, before retiring in 1998.

Rose, a devoted mother and grandmother, was immensely proud of her family and time spent with them was the absolute highlight of her life. Christmas was her favorite holiday, a time when she would go all out decorating inside and out, enjoying the Parade of Lights and festive decorations all around and spoiling her beloved family. She appreciated all music, especially jazz, and often told stories of dressing up to sneak into the ‘Band Box’ to dance the night away. Rose had a voracious sweet tooth, was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling all over the U.S., Sante Fe and Chama, NM being two favored spots. Rose loved learning about and being a part of the political process as a staunch Democrat, placing her first vote for President John F. Kennedy. She participated in Cesar Chavez marches and even attended the William J. Clinton Library inauguration in Little Rock, Arkansas by personal invitation. She also reveled in bantering and teasing her neighbor Sid about politics. Rose took tremendous joy in her relationships with her siblings, cousins, friends and neighbors and her time at the Senior Center, However, she cherished her time with her grandchildren the most. Rose was an extremely loving, thoughtful, kind, generous woman who leaves behind an abundance of love and beautiful memories. She was immensely loved and will be greatly missed.

Rose is survived by three children: Anthony (Renatta), of Broomfield; Christopher (Angela), of Aurora; and Jason (Wendy), of Arvada, by five grandchildren: Josh (Denise), Matthew (Britney), Marcus, Alex and Sophia, and three great-grandchildren, Ariana, Madison and Evalyn. Rose was preceded in death by her loving husband in 2009.

All services will be held on Friday, September 14, 2018 at 1 PM at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church, 900 W Midway Blvd Broomfield, CO 80020.

I am truly saddened to know a beautiful person - inside and out - has passed. Throughout elementary and high school, I greatly admired Rose for her kindness, her beauty, her intelligence, and her gregarious personality. I’m sorry that I was not at her services, but she would understand - my husband requires 24-hour care and I am the caregiver. Enjoy your everlasting life with Jesus in paradise - save a place for me.

I was Rose's classmate for 8 years at Sacred Heart School where we developed a lasting friendship. We went to different high schools but stayed in touch through our mutual friends and our inter school activities. I wish we could have spent more time with her and Sonny as we grew older. She will be missed by her many friends and relatives. Our thoughts and prayers are with her and her family. John and Esther

We had so many wonderful times with both Rose and Sonny, but the one we think of was the first time they visited us when we lived in Traverse City, MI. It was the first time Rose had seen Lake Michigan and she was in awe of how it looked like the ocean. She was a great lady and so easy to be with as she always just went with the flow. We always laughed a lot when we were together. Our deepest condolences to all of her family that she loved so much.

I'f known Rose for many years and formally a brother in law. She was 2 years behind me in school and was extremely popular. She and Sonny were very close to me during my marriage to her sister. I'm sure she will be missed greatly by her family. I will be out of town on Friday, but she will be in my prayers. Dennis Maes
