

Rose A Gallegos
August 13, 1923 - March 3, 2014
Rose Gallegos was born to the late Crencio & Juanita Candelario in Taos, New Mexico on August 13, 1923. She was born among 3 brothers and one sister. Rose later grew up and met a young carpenter named Jose Avenecio Gallegos. They soon married on March 2, 1942 and raised ten children, four boys and six girls in Capulin, Colorado. Rose and Avenecio moved to west Denver in 1967. Rose worked alongside her husband on some of his carpentry jobs making cabinets and roofing. She also worked at the Brown Palace. Rose loved cooking for her family. Her red chili, tamales and biscochitos were the hit of the family and a local restaurant that would often sell out of her biscochitos that she sold them to would beg for a steady supply.
Rose was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 57 years, Jose Avenecio Gallegos, a daughter, Teresa Saenz, a son, Bernie Gallegos and her daughter, Susan Giron Gallegos.
Rose departed this life on March 3, 2014 She leaves to cherish in her memory:
Benny Gallegos of Denver CO, Annabelle Medina Denver CO, David Gallegos of Monte Vista CO, JoAnn (Richard) Valdez of Colo Sprg, Diana (Bernard) Holmes Arvada CO , Mae (Steven) Brito of Mogate CO and Gabriel (Cindy) Gallegos Westminster CO. Rose is Also survived by a loving 28 grandchildren, 48great-grandchildren and 25 great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces , nephews, cousins family and friends.
Rose was the matriarch of the Gallegos family, was loved by them and by many and will be greatly missed.
