Sharlene Leslie

Sharlene (Rowe) Leslie passed away on Saturday February 24, 2024, at the age of 84. She was born in Johnson City, TN on December 24, 1939, to Grace and Cliff Rowe. She was their only daughter. She spent her young childhood in TN until her family followed her grandparents to Fowler, CO. She graduated from Fowler High School.

After High School, she went on to spend a year at Bob Jones University. Her parents moved to Loveland, CO to take on a new endeavor, a flower shop. She quickly joined them but also went to work for Hewlett-Packard there in Loveland. She also worked in the flower shop with her parents, specializing in wedding work and corsages.

In 1963, she was set up on a blind date with Ron. She was in a singing group at her church which came down to the big city to sing at Beth Eden Baptist Church. Her pastor’s wife thought it was a good idea to introduce her to Ron.

They were married on September 6, 1964, at Beth Eden Baptist Church. She spent the next nearly 60 years doing Children’s Ministry. She was a beloved Children’s choir director and Sunday School Teacher reaching families that spanned multiple generations. She worked in Women’s ministry, as a wedding coordinator and party planner extraordinaire.

She is survived by her only daughter Heather (Ron) Florence, Grand-children Micaela (Rick) Richey and Caleb Florence and her great-grandson Emmett Richey. She has numerous cousins and close friends that will miss her dearly.

Her Celebration of Life service will be held at Harbor Church Arvada on Saturday March 23rd at 10:00 am. The church is located at 6245 Garrison St., Arvada, 80004. A reception will follow.
