Sharon Kay Griffith, beloved mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully at the age of 81 on January 2, 2026, after a brief illness while she was in hospice care at her daughter Michele's home in Arvada, Colorado.
Born on September 7, 1944, in Kimball, Nebraska, to Lester and Dorothy Griffith, Sharon grew up in the wide-open spaces of Kimball County, where country living helped shape her independent and resilient spirit. She later attended Kearney State College, setting the foundation of a lifelong career marked by dilligence and professionalism.
Sharon dedicated her life to her work as a legal secretary, earning the respect of colleagues for her reliability, strong work ethic, and commitment to getting the job done right. She found satisfaction in quiet routines and personal interests: reading, watching movies, caring for the animals she kept throughout her life-especially her dogs-and spending time camping and traveling when she could.
She is survived by her daughter, Michele, and son-in-law Ken; her sister, Jeanne; her grandchildren, Michael, Joshua and Trey; and her great grandchildren, Gaberiel and Zoey. Her life leaves a distinct and lasting mark on her family's story, and her memory will continue in the lives of those who knew her.
Honoring her wishes, Sharon will be cremated, and her ashes spread "somewhere warm," in keeping with her expressed preference for a simple and informal final resting place.
