Born August 9, 1945, in Greeley, Colorado, Sharon was the daughter of Andrew B. Szasz and Norma V. Hosier, and grew up alongside her younger brother, Andrew Jr. Szasz. From her early years onward, she carried herself with a steady, practical spirit—one that would be reflected in the life she built and the care she gave to others.
Sharon graduated from Adams City High School and later earned a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Aims Community College. Her diligence and reliability shaped both her working life—through homemaking and a variety of miscellaneous jobs—and her many commitments to the people and communities she loved.
On September 30, 1964, Sharon married Peter John Warne in Henderson, Colorado. Their marriage lasted until Peter’s passing on March 29, 1982. In the years that followed, Sharon shared 38 years with her life partner, Bernard F. Fearn, who preceded her in death in 2022. After a life marked by change and resilience, Sharon called many places home, including Johnstown, Commerce City, Evergreen, Loveland, and Conifer, Colorado, as well as New Jersey, Hawaii, Alaska, and Arizona.
Sharon’s life was enriched by fellowship and faith. She served as Ladies President at the Evergreen Elks Club, and she also sang in the Praise & Worship Team at Christ the King Christian Fellowship—offering her time and presence with quiet devotion. At home and with family, she found simple joys in time spent together, especially when a deck of cards was involved; games were one of the ways she connected, laughed, and made ordinary moments feel warm and memorable. And though she met life with steadiness, Sharon had one unwavering fear: she was deathly afraid of any snake.
Above all, Sharon was proudest of the family she nurtured and the generations that followed—her enduring legacy as a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Sharon is survived by her only son, Dean Warne and his stepchildren ; grandchildren Richard, Josh, Aubrey, Chelsea, Kristen, Terry, Leighton and Evy; great-grandchildren Arlo, Levi, Sullivan, Della, Shelby, Harvey, Preston, Landon, and Trenton; her brother, Andy Szasz; and friends Jim & Jan, Sally, Mike and Pauline.
She was preceded in death by her spouse, Peter Warne; her life partner, Bernard Fearn; her child, Virgil Fearn; her nephew, Richard Szasz; and her pets Blue Sky, Bunny, Rusty, and Foxey.
