Shirley Marlene Burdick, 82, of Pierce, CO, passed away on November 9th, 2016, at the Greeley Life Care Center in Greeley, CO. She was born in McDonald, KS, January 4th, 1934 to Robert and Hertha Oakley Archer. She was married to Donald N. Burdick on July 29th, 1950 in Meeker, CO. Shirley helped her husband, Don, run their trucking business for many years. Shirley and Don lived in Lakewood, CO. for many years, where they raised their 5 children. They moved to Franktown, CO in 1976. They continued running the trucking business and owned a liquor store. After Don’s passing in 1990, Shirley moved to Canon City with her sister, Kay, and owned and operated a motel before retiring. Shirley spent her final years in Pierce, CO.
She is survived by her five children and spouses, Bonnie and Mark Rogers of Fairbanks, AK, Connie Masden and Warren Brown of Pierce, CO, Clay Burdick and Sheila Hyatt of Walden, CO, Tammy and Randy Mahoney of Littleton, CO, and Lance and Jennifer Burdick of Pueblo, CO; her sister, Kay Hargrave, sister Bobbie and Brother-in-law, Neal Hargrave, all of Canon City, CO and Dale Archer and Sister-in-law Carol of Fredrick, CO; 17 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Shirley is preceded in death by her husband Don, parents Robert and Hertha Oakley Archer, brothers, Doyle and Ross Archer, sisters Joanne Reynolds and Phyllis Ridgeway. A funeral service will be held at Olinger Crown Hill Mortuary and Cemetery, 7777 W. 29th Ave, Wheat Ridge, CO 80033 at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, November 16, 2016. Viewing will held at 9:00 A.M. The family will be greeting friends and relatives at this time. Burial will follow the funeral at Olinger Crown Hill Cemetery. Condolences may be left on Shirley Burdick’s online guest book.
